Dr Geoffrey Smith is an Orthopaedic Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon in Sydney.

He specialises in arthroscopic and endoscopic surgery, joint replacement and trauma reconstruction surgery including complex primary and revision cases. Dr Smith’s practice is based at St George Hospital, Sutherland Hospital and St George Private Hospital.

He is the supervisor of the ‘Sydney Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship’ and is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales.

He trained in Orthopaedic Surgery in Leeds, Edinburgh and Queensland with Fellowship Shoulder and Elbow training in Sydney and Bristol. He has been a Specialist Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon since 2012.

His research areas include shoulder and elbow replacement, rotator cuff repair and reconstruction, and computer modelling of the shoulder. Geoffrey has published extensively in Orthopaedic Surgery and has been awarded a PhD from UNSW for his thesis entitled ‘Studies on the morphology of the scapula and its link to shoulder pathology’.
